I first read about Dorie Golkin and Emelyn Northway’s company Of Mercer in the February issue of Matchbook Magazine and was quite taken with the concept. The company’s goal is to provide high-quality work clothes at an affordable price. I immediately opened a new tab and went straight to browse their collections. Finding clothing that both reflects your personal style and is office appropriate can be a challenge. Even for a person like myself who dresses relatively conservative in everyday life, it can be difficult to find work clothes that aren’t too boring or masculine.
Of Mercer’s clothes remind me of some of the pieces you’d find at Theory. They are well-made, stylish yet conservative, and come at a reasonable price (sometimes half the price of clothes from places like Theory). In fact, every piece on the Of Mercer website is priced under $250.
Here are my top five picks!
