Living in Florida, I typically don’t have the pleasure of wearing true winter outfits. My winter wardrobe consists of what those in other parts of the U.S. and world would consider autumn outfits. Here are a few ideas for enjoying the cooler weather, sartorially.
My study sessions generally take place at the library in the evening. I want to look nice, of course, but comfort is of the utmost importance.
Especially if you have back-to-back classes, comfort is important but I find that dressing up for class on most days makes me feel more awake, confident, and ready for the day. I love the idea of pairing J.Crew’s cafe capris with a cable knit turtleneck.
There’s nothing like Eggs Benedict on a chilly Sunday morning. Keep it cozy and comfortable with an oversized sweater, good quality skinny jeans, and your favourite leather riding boots. Throw in an accessory such as this Sperry tote bag, as you can never go wrong with tartan.
Chances are, you’ll have at least one festive party to attend this season. This Matthew Williamson dress is simple, with just the right amount of embellishment to make it special. I would pair it with a pair of gold pumps (I chose a pair with a tasteful heel so that the look is not too over-the-top) and a knit cardigan for style and function. Complete the look with a pair of festive earrings (these are vintage Chanel, I believe) and a red lip!
So, I call this look “Preppy Hangover” but what I really mean is that this look is for those mornings when you are completely exhausted but still need to look put-together for breakfast or a casual outing.
While I advocate for the buying of quality, long-lasting, authentic pieces, I understand that we all have different budgets. You can easily recreate these outfits at just about any price point!
